Honored Sport Master of Russia 

A dominant Judo wrestler, heavy weight category. 

 

 
Accomplishments: 

- Silver medal at the Olympic Games in Athens (2004) 

- Bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Sydney (2000), later on the medal was changed to silver, because of disqualification of the runner-up. 

- Bronze medals at the World Championships in 1997 and 2004. 

- Winner of the Grand Prix Competitions (2001) 

- Five time European Champion 

- Multiply time Champion of Russia.  

 

 

 

Tamerlan Tmenov was born on July 27, 1977 in Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia. He graduated from the North Ossetia State University. 

Since 1995 he competes for the Russia National Team and since 1998 he has been it’s captain.  

 

 
Considered as one of the best judo wrestlers in the world, Tmenov has always had bad luck- being just one step away from the gold medal. But all his fans know he is a tough guy and in the future he can still reach the top.
