This book, written by the German traveller and researcher Moriz Von Dechy was published in Berlin, in 1905. 

The author explores the mountainous areas of Ossetia, Balkaria, Kabarda, Svanetia and describes the beautiful landscape and highlanders of the begining of the 20th century, also providing plenty of pictures taken by him.
