Anatoly Skodtaev

Outstanding Russian Ossetian armwrestler,
Honored Sport Master of Russia,
Honored Trainer of Russia.
Accomplishments:
- Five time World Champion (1993, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2003)
- Silver medals at the World Championships (1992, 1993, 1994, 1999, 2003)
- Multiple* European Champion
- Multiple Russian National Champion
- Canadian National champion (2007, with both hands)
- Multiple prestigeous tournament "Golden Bear" and other world class competitions winner
A.Skodtaev was born in Surkh Digora, North Ossetia. He graduated from North Ossetian State Medical Institute (1983) as a therapist.
Anatoly is a really unique sportsman. He started armwrestling at the prestigeous competitions when he was well over 30. But from 1992 for more then a decade he won all highest titles in armsport. Sometimes he competed with the heavy weight categories athlets, though his weight was only 90kg. At the age of 44 he won his last World Championship in Ottawa, Canada (2003).
A.Skodtaev, as a coach helped many Ossetian athlets achiev the top of world armwrestling, winning gold medals at the Wrold and European championships.
Presenly Anatoly Skodtaev lives in Toronto, Canada.
