Soslanbek Gatagov
(1930-1982)
Major-general of Military Medical Service
S.Gatagov was born in New Urukh, North Ossetia.
He completed a full course at Military Medical Academy in Leningrad and started his service as a military medical doctor in Turkestansky Military District.
For the relatively short time Gatagov reached the rank of colonel heading the Medical service of the Privolzhsky and Pribaltiysky Military Districts. Shortly after that he was given a rank of major-general, becoming a youngest military medical service general in USSR.
S.Gatagov was held in respect everywhere he served, including Hungary and Eastern Germany.
