Ossetia joined Russia in 1774 and since then never regret about that decision. There is no independent small nations in the world. Every nation is under the "big guys'" control. Do you think the Baltic countries or Georgia are independent? This is just illusion. You will always do whatever your western patrons will want you to do. And nobody will bother to ask Jonas if he wants it that way.
So, Ossetians prefere to keep friendship with its long time northern neighbour and ally rather than relate on World Devil's "care". We do not need the democratic changes they usually bring to who they are taking care of, like Vietnam, Korea, Afganistan, Irak, Georgia and many other places all over the world.
