T.Batagov was born in 1940 in Beslan, North Ossetia.
In 1967 he graduated from the Saratovsky Juridical Institute, and in 1982 – from Internal Affairs Ministry Academy in Moscow.
From 1963 to 1997 he established a long career as a police detective in Saratov to the North Ossetian Internal Affairs Deputy-minister.
T.Batagov as one of the key police officers in the successful rescue operation called “Grom (Thunder)”, when 30 children were taken hostages. He was awarded with the Order of the Red Banner.
From 1990 to 1995 he was an elected Member of the Russian State Duma (Parliament), working within the Constitutional Committee.
Nowadays T.Batagov works as an assistant-chairman of the North Ossetian Republican Arbitration Court.
