Borukaev Ramazan A.  

(1899-1967) 

Geologist, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical science, professor. Was awarded the Lenin Prize (1958) and State Prize of Kazakhstan (1982) – posthumously.  

R.Borukaev completed a full program in Leningradsky Mining Institute in 1931. Before WW2 he occupied managerial positions within the geological industry of Kazakhstan. Then, during more than 25 years he had been working in the field of geological science. The last 3 years of his life he headed the Geological Scientific Institute (research centre) of Kazakh Academy of Sciences.
